How to Use a Turkish Coffee Pot

It is very simple to use a Turkish coffeepot. The pot waits till you have all the ingredients measured out. Once that is done you pour all the ingredients inside the pot and mix them there.

The pot then goes on the heat and waits till the heat gets hot enough to create a foam layer. You then remove the pot from the heat and pour it in your cups. Then the pot is returned to the heat but do not let the coffee boil.

Once the coffee is brewed, use the long handle to pour it into the different cups you are using. That is it. It is very simple to use a Turkish coffee pot.

How to Make Turkish Coffee in a Pot

1

Step 1 -  Measurements

Since Turkish coffee is a very strong variety, you want to start with 2 big teaspoons of your ground coffee.

If you are starting with whole coffee beans grind enough of them to reach that target.

2

Step 2 -  Add some water

Then measure out about 1.7 ounces of water or 50 ml for every cup you are going to make. The Turkish coffee cup is called a fincup and you should use 1 1/2 fincups per cup of coffee.

3

Step 3 -  Add some sugar

Sugar is optional and you can go without, if you can handle it or add between 1 to 4 teaspoons to get the coffee to your taste levels. After you get all the ingredients measured out, combine them in the Turkish coffee pot.

Progress so far

Step 4 -  Start brewing your Turkish coffee

Once that is done, just put the coffee pot on heat and let it brew. You can start with low heat. Oh and do not forget to thoroughly stir the ingredients together once they are in the pot and before you heat it up.

If foam begins to appear do not stir it back into the coffee, just pour it into your cup and put the pot back on the heat. Do not let the coffee boil. If you see bubbles, remove from the heat and let it cool.

5

Step 5 -  Add foam & serve

You may need to raise the foam 2 or 3 times before the coffee is ready to serve. When the coffee is ready, pour and serve.

Drink while it is still hot and foamy.

What We Found

The first thing we learned about Turkish coffee making is that every culture has its own way of brewing coffee and that it may not have the exact same brewing time. Turkish coffee takes about 10 minutes or more to brew giving you time to sit down and relax for those few moments.

Also, the Turkish coffee cup size is quite small and 1 American cup equals about 2-3 Turkish sized cups. That is a big difference for those who like big cups of coffee.

But once it is brewed the coffee should taste great. Be careful it may be very strong

The Winner is...

MisterCopper Turkish Coffee Pot Review

The best Turkish coffee maker title goes to the Mister Copper Hammered Copper Turkish Coffee Pot. While there was a competitor that made more Turkish coffee than this one, this model had better overall features.

Its wood handle was better than its competitors and did not heat up. Plus it was sturdy and durable.

Also, we liked the pour spout as it seems to be drip-free. The handmade beaten copper looked very attractive as well.

Final Words

Making Turkish coffee is not that hard. All it takes is a little time and the right ingredients. But it is a great way to relieve stress and tension as you have to wait for it to be brewed.

That is a big bonus for you. You can have great romantic moments with your loved one while waiting for the coffee to brew then drinking it afterwards. It is a great style of coffee to add to your coffee drinking styles.
